Long Summary Edit
Yūichirō and Mikaela barely manage to block Guren's attack, the force of which sweeps across the cityscape. Thrown into the air from the blocked impact, Yu groans about how Guren got so powerful before Mika says they cannot get separated.
Upon recovering, they resume their plan to escape while Guren contemplates his sword, commenting that the life-absorption barrier is getting weaker. Guren reasons that and him splitting power between Noya and Mahiru would explain why his attack was so flimsy as he sees it. Adapting the strategy, Guren instructs Mahiru to return to the sword while Noya analyzes Ashera's threat level.
As Yu and Mika run for a place to hide, Guren immediately drops in their way and launches a slash aimed at Yu's neck. He is protected by Mika, the attack slicing into his back. Mika tells Yu to jump backwards as hard as he can, and clutching him, he does so with enough strength to shoot himself straight through a building to escape, whilst Noya makes fun of Guren at him allowing the boys to escape again.
Carrying Mika, Yu is told to forget the cursed gear wound Mika sustained and hide, if Guren catches them he will kill them. Yu suggests that Mika drink his blood while he runs to heal from the wound and the latter obliges, drinking Yu's blood to the point where he has to kick Mika away to stop him from devouring so much.
Inside a building, Mika's injury has healed and Yu considers he will need to draw upon more demonic power with what Guren possesses and is using against them. At this, Yu enters into his mindscape with the intention of having Asuramaru lend him more power. Little by little, Asuramaru reveals his memories are coming back and he has some notion of who Noya is. Knowing he is bad news, Yu gathers that Noya is Guren's demon and is advised to get away.
Needing far more power, Yu considers he could go berserk, but noticing that Asuramaru appears wary of Noya he uses him as a guarantee of sorts to ensure that Asuramaru will not take over his body. Yu also assures him they are friends who look out for one another. Asuramaru obliges with Yu's desire to be granted more power than ever before, declaring that he will turn him into a demon. Streams of dark energy rise from explosions from the building they are hiding in.
