Mizuna Aoyama (青山 水菜 Aoyama Mizuna?) is a girl who comes into contact with Guren Ichinose in the Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose: Catastrophe at Sixteen manga. She would be happy that her brother, Daigo Aoyama had returned home after a troubled childhood involving her father. Mizuna would know something about the murders of high school girls that was taking place in Aichi since she was responsible for them.
Appearance[]
In her sorcerer garb, Mizuna wore a kitsune mask and a pentagram necklace. Her sleeves were largely sheets of cloth worn loose, and she wore short like garments as well. Mizuna was barefoot with string wrapped round her left leg. Overall, she bore a resemblance to the Shikigami she was involved with. Without such attire, Mizuna had long relatively dark colored hair that reached over her shoulders at the front, and down to her back behind.
Upon placing the kitsune themed mask on herself a thick artery like feature swelled over her spine, grew outwards and formed a monstrous head. After becoming an upper torso, the horned monster with pointed ears and lower canine teeth also had a great mane of lone flowing hair. Shorter in comparison but still long overall sections of hair hung down from the sides of its head, behind its ears, but in-front of its half formed chest. The monster's arms were huge in proportion to its already large body. Its left arm was muscular and had what appeared to be an additional bone included. Each long thick finger ended in a long sharp black claw. Most strikingly, all things considering, that the sharpened on one side, large white blade that was connected to its right elbow.
Personality[]
As a child, she was upset when Daigo was being pushed by their father, and more so when Daigo left her as she sobbed profusely. Happy to see him again, Mizuna then appears down when their father is mentioned. With the electricity not used, since Mizuna is alone most of the time it became a habit.
Clad in her kitsune themed garb, Mizune was indifferent to her shikagami being decapitated. Doubting Guren’s claims it was the end, Mizuna boasted of her power. She was silent at Guren’s comments but looked forward to him coming for her. When that occurred, Mizuna had the monster appear and cried for Daigo to not see what she meant about feeling unclean.
History[]
Living with her brother and father, Mizuna expresses worry for Daigo after he is pushed over. With her mother having passed away, Mizuna stuck by Daigo as their father went to punch him. When Daigo was older and left the house, Mizuna implored him to not go and leave her in this house. Mizuna was crying as Daigo waved goodbye.
While sorting some clothes, Mizuna heard from her father that he and her could birth her mother again. Asking who the person with him was, Mizuna then resisted her father’s advances and called for Daigo’s help as she fled. Having reached the kitchen, Mizuna was holding a knife as she slashes behind her, which cuts across her father’s throat. With blood over her, Mizuna drops the knife. Hearing from Hina that he could resurrect both of them, Mizuna was asked what she was prepared to do. On regaining her happiness, Mizuna imagined her family as they were where the four of them were content. Accepting a fox shaped mask from Hina, she wanted to be with her brother and would do anything.
Story[]
After the Shikigami are cut down, Mizuna lands on a banister ornament to face Guren. Told it is the end for her, Mizuna wonders if it is that easy, surely the religious Ichinose clan knows about her power. Looking forward to his arrival, Mizuna was then able to disappear. After the curse on a murdered girl is ordered to be sent back to its sender, Mizuna is kneeling in a house when her mask cracks.
With it having been ten years after her brother left, Mizuna says it is late and who is that. Seeing Daigo in the house, she is elated and proceeds to hug him. Commenting that this smell is really good, Mizuna sees that he really came back and is so happy. Asked where father is, Mizuna replies he went out, and she does not talk to him much these days. Hearing that Daigo came back for her, Mizuna mentions the promise and how he remembers it.
Lying beside one another in futons sleeping, Mizuna rises and on top of Daigo asks that he embrace her. People who love each other do so, but Mizuna guesses she is not pretty enough. Indifferent that they are siblings, Mizuna questions whether Daigo is unable to embrace her because she deems herself unclean. Questioned whether her father did anything inappropriate, Mizuna says to Daigo that he came back too late. Feeling that everything will be fine if Daigo sleeps with her, Mizuna states how Tenkon said so, they will be able to birth mother and father. After kissing him, Mizuna requests that Mizuna comfort her, as unclean as she is.
With Guren joining them, armed with a sword, Mizuna is concerned for her brother being pushed away but reacts with anger to Guren. Placing the kitsune mask on, an area over Mizuna’s spine swells before a fleshy growth pushes outwards from her back to form another being. The upper torso of a long haired monster has a large clawed left arm, and a sharp blade as a right arm. While that attacks Guren, Mizuna herself pleads for Daigo to not look at her, this ugly figure. Pulling her hair and stating she wants to die, in her grief Mizuna shouts she will kill them as the monster above raises its weapon. With it blocked by Guren, the monster is cut apart and with assistance from Daigo in addition to a spell tag, Mizuna floats down as herself. A few days later, Mizuna awakens from a coma in a hospital managed by Mikado no Tsuki.

Daigo Aoyama[]
Close with her brother, Mizuna cried when he left and called for him when in danger even though he was gone. Appearing fulfilled at his return, Mizuna is sticking to him so much since it has been a long time. Whether magically induced, or isolated and worn down to the point she believes what her father did, Mizuna asks to sleep with Daigo to resolve the uncleanliness she felt and to bring their parents back. Her life would be saved by her brother.
Aoyama's Father[]
With her father engrossed in a religion that promised to bring her mother back, it appears Mizuna was left to tend to household chores. She focused on who the man with him was, and was scared of what he suggested. After her father is clear he means to try and sleep with her so she can birth her own mother, Mizuna defends herself with a knife resulting in Aoyama's death.
Hina Tenkon[]
A member of the cult her father was involved in. After asking who he was, Mizuna would be spoken to by him about how he could resurrect both her mother, and now deceased father. With little other recourse being a young girl who had lost her family, in the circumstances, Mizuna accepted the kitsune mask he presented setting her on the path. It is possible Mizuna had contact with Hina again, or the mask had an influence, as she would adopt her father's plan to bring her family back which was apparently mentioned by Hina.
Guren Ichinose[]
Greeting him while dressed in her kitsune clothing, Mizuna was aware of his family background and welcomed the chance to fight, feeling she had abilities of her own. Rather than face him directly there however, Mizuna retired to continue her larger plan of having enough girls killed to form a gigantic pentagram over the city. While it is unknown is Mizuna is aware that it was Guren who foiled this plan, she did react with anger at finding him in her and Daigo's home. Although she felt the form was disgusting, Mizuna generated the monster above her to attack Guren. After this is cut apart, Mizuna as herself is caught by Guren after he and Daigo save her.
