After trumpets of the apocalypse proclaim the fall of humanity, vampires arise from the shadows to rule the earth. Yūichirō wants just one thing—to get revenge by killing each and every vampire.
Yūichirō survives the trial to acquire Cursed Gear — demon-possessed weaponry that is humanity's only hope for combating the vampire scourge. But times are dangerous, and instead of getting to celebrate his newfound power, Yūichirō and his friends are given their first mission: head to Shinjuku and investigate vampire activity. Unbeknownst to Yūichirō, Mika, his best friend and now a vampire, is headed for the same place.

Cover Details[]
Volume three's cover displays Shinoa holding her manifested Cursed Gear scythe, Shikama Dōji. Depicted in color, Shinoa has mauve hair and orangey brown eyes. The Japanese Imperial Demon Army uniform Shinoa wears is black overall, with green features, notably the parallel straps around her wrists, and grooves in her skirt. Shinoa wears a red bow around her neck, with dark colored ribbon like features in the back of her hair. The large black scythe form of Shikama Doji has the green blade section behind Shinoa, where the handle is curved around to where the spiked end appears near Shinoa's boot heel.
For the setting, there are ruined buildings in the lower right of the image. Shadows from what may be a guard rail may be on the left, where there appears to be a mixed environment at the top of the image. Unlikely a dream setting, the location may partly be the outside world, or the underground vampire lair being delved into during the chapter events. The entire background is tinged by various shades of pink. The pink light seemingly emanates from the left of Shinoa's face, that also bathes her hair in it.
