Masanori Hanayori (花依正規 Hanayori Masanori?) is a character in Seraph of the End where he is Sayuri Hanayori's father. Masanori is a member of the Order of the Imperial Moon in the Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose: Catastrophe at Sixteen light novel series.

Appearance[]

An average man, he had short light colored hair.

At Sakae's funeral, Masanori wore a black suit with a white dress shirt and black tie. In the 2012 rebellion, he wore a battle uniform.

Personality[]

He is shown to be very loyal to the Ichinose House, particularly the previous head Sakae Ichinose and the current head, Guren Ichinose. Passing this loyalty onto his daughter, Masanori raises Sayuri to serve the Ichinose House with utmost allegiance. In 2012, like the rest of the Order of the Imperial Moon, he desired revenge against the Order of the Imperial Demons.

Calm and always depicted smiling, Masanori is also confident under pressure and in his abilities. A level-headed man, he seeks confirmation and commands before carrying out military action.

History[]

Masanori belongs to a retainer house that serves the Ichinoses. He grew up with Sakae Ichinose and served as one of his right-hand men. He is one of the elites who taught Guren swordsmanship and sorcery.

At some point in 1996, he had a daughter named Sayuri and she would grow up training to be one of Guren's bodyguards alongside Shigure Yukimi. When as a child Guren is beaten up by members of the Hīragi House, he and the rest of the Hanayori House gather to discuss future measures. He instructs Sayuri to attend to him.

Story[]

Events of 2012[]

Some time in October, Masanori, along with Samidare Yukimi, speaks briefly to Guren about his interaction with Makoto Narumi. When Guren asks if his attitude was unsuitable, Masanori answers no, that he is glad Guren didn’t change even after going to Shibuya where the Hīragis are situated.[1]

On December 23, Masanori calls Guren to confirm the rebellion against the Hīragi Family and request orders. Although the forces attacking the Order of the Imperial Moon in Aichi were over a thousand times their own, he is pleased that the day of revenge arrived faster than expected. When asked if he can survive, he simply states that he will win, agreeing to at least make it through to Christmas.[2] What became of Masanori is unknown.
