Summary[]
As many spell tags float in the air, Krul retains a tight grip of Guren as she bites him. Where Guren is powerless to stop Krul from consuming his blood, Mahiru on the ground speaks no.[1]
Shouting no, not like this, Mahiru pleads for Krul to stop. Saying don't as she takes to running, Mahiru is conscious if Krul drinks this much of Guren's blood.[2]
On the ground with Guren, in taking Mahiru's presence into account, Krul hurls a power from her arm that sends Mahiru across the room of the building they are in, where she crashes through the wall. Tearful, Mahiru thinks it is over.
On her knees, Mahiru then changes her tone in raising if Krul were to drink that much of her Guren's blood. Experiencing what would happen firsthand, Krul splutters before gripping her chest. Guessing right away who is behind this, Krul looks to Mahiru.[3]
Specifying it is slow-acting poison, Mahiru refers to Krul as her Majesty in explaining how she almost guessed it too. Detailing the background, Mahiru reveals the strike from her was the first dose. The strike from Guren was the second.[4]
Using her fingers to illustrate it, Mahiru continues that the third strike was in Guren's blood. Mahiru adds though Krul did need to drink enough of it. After Mahiru says mix them all and they make a deadly poison, Krul experiences the effects of it as she projects a copious blackened substance from her mouth.[5]
As Krul cries out seemingly in pain, Guren witnesses the scene while tending to the injury on his neck. Crashing down on her back, Krul appears incapacitated where all she can do is stare upwards, open-mouthed in shock.[6]
Regarding Krul in this condition, Mahiru remarks that if she had just killed Guren she would have trounced them. That was the one possibility Mahiru shares she feared. Indifferent to the blood splattered across the ground, Mahiru thinks that at the end of the day, it is almost sad how shameless vampires are.
With blood trickling from her eye, Krul has no words.[7] Mahiru places her head very close to Krul's face. Gloating, Mahiru describes how Krul dove in like a beast. Honing in how Krul was slurping on Guren's blood, Mahiru clarifies how she likes that sad part of her.
After Krul can speak why you, Mahiru turns her attention to Ferid. Calling his name, Mahiru questions if he is there. Announcing he had better devour Krul quickly, Mahiru is wary of this being done before Krul dies.
Making his close presence known, Ferid emerges into view having climbed to the top of the building they are on. With a cheerful hi, Ferid declares he is here plus that it is time to eat.[8]
Mahiru asks Guren if he is okay. Flatly answering nope, Guren responds that he feels woozy and faint. Contending that was pretty close, Mahiru speaks that she is glad Guren did not die.
Pulling himself onto the floor, Ferid casually asks her Majesty if she is ready since it is time for dinner. Krul seems unable to move, and has no inclination to speak or react in any way as she stares up defeated.[9]
Her thoughts concern what is this, where Krul wonders what is going on. Questioning what happened to her, Krul appears to recollect a scenario from her past.
At night there is a tranquil country setting with ancient Greek appearing architecture. Resting in bed together, Krul and Ashera were human children.[10]
Asking him to guess what, Krul had heard a super scary story today. Replying for her to not talk about scary stories now, Ashera claimed she would not be able to sleep.
Responding that she already could not sleep, Krul said she heard that there was a scary monster that drinks people's blood. Krul added that it was supposed to live on the other side of the mountain. Dismissing the idea, Ashera maintained it did not exist.[11]
Ardently affirming that it did exist, Krul told Ashera that the Pasha, a minster she had heard, said so. Not remotely convinced, Ashera replied no it didn't exist. Setting forth that they had to hurry and get changed, Krul decided then if the blood-sucking monster found them they could run away before it catches them.
Hardly motivated, Ashera half-heartedly complied and said for Krul to hurry and get changed if she wanted to. Protesting that she could not do it herself, Ashera responded that he guessed the monster was going to catch her.
Springing on him, Krul wailed that she was scared to which Ashera requested would she just go to sleep. Settling down, when Krul had a question, Ashera reiterated for her to go to sleep.[12]
Krul asked Ashera what would he do if a scary monster took her away. After Ashera said that monsters do not exist, Krul raised if they did, and say they took her away, what would he do. Giving it some thought and understanding what Krul was after, Ashera assured her he would go out, find her, and rescue her. Patting Krul on the head as he said this, Ashera promised before saying for her to relax and go to sleep.[13]
After Krul asked really, Ashera responded yes really. Where Krul was checking if he would really for real, Ashera confirmed in repeating her words really for real. For that, Krul stated that she loved him as she affectionately pounced on him in bed, to which Ashera said thanks before adding now go to sleep.
Not done talking, Krul happily mentioned that if a monster comes and takes Ashera away, she would come and rescue him. Considering her words, Ashera felt okay, but he would not hold his breath. Krul insisted that she would really for real.
The memories that came to mind reaching their end, Krul contemplates that it turns out the true monsters were humans. Raising how her brother turned into the blood-sucking monster, Krul thinks then he made her a monster too. Krul remains silently lying upwards with these thoughts.[14]
In the present moment, Krul speaks aloud how they promised really for real. With pauses between saying each part, Krul guesses she cannot keep it. Approaching her, Guren tells Krul he will keep their promise. Listing her, and Ashera Tepes, he states he will resurrect them both as humans.
Without a word to Guren, she seems to give what he said consideration before Krul turns to Mahiru. As Mahiru awaits her to speak, Krul seeks her to promise that she would do this. Mentioning Mahiru's power, Krul judges she can do it. Krul says she can trust Mahiru.
Sorry, Mahiru asserts they are not promising anything. For what Krul's thoughts are of this, she remains looking at Mahiru. Sharing that they are desperate too, Mahiru speaks how this is a craptacular world they live in.
Mahiru propounds she is little different than Krul. Describing herself as just a girl like any other, Mahiru states she is one who went through a ton of crap at others' whims.[15]
Keeping her response to herself, Krul resumes staring upwards. Understanding the situation, Krul supposes it is true. Weakly raising her hand to Mahiru who has knelt down to her level, Krul requests that Mahiru promise she will at least try.
Answering okay, Mahiru has taken Krul's hand and avows they will give it a shot. Possibly satisfied with the commitment, Krul closes her eyes. Speaking Ashera's name, Krul says she is sorry. Krul thinks she has to go on ahead.[16]
There is a scenario of two birds soaring ahead, where feathers appear to be falling from one of them. Standing by herself and looking ahead into the distance, Mahiru remains passive in thought as Ferid strolls past her. As Ferid consumes Krul behind her, Mahiru remains in her own thoughts.[17]
Moved to engage with who else is there, Mahiru asks Guren if he is okay with some degree of concern. Without sharing how he feels, Guren simply asks Mahiru in turn how she is. Happy to answer no, Mahiru remarks there is literally nothing fun in this world and it sucks.
Mahiru asks Guren if she can get a hug. Without waiting for an answer, Mahiru care-freely embraces Guren while stating not that she won't take one if he said no.
Apparently not moved by Mahiru's sentiment there, Guren looks to the sound Ferid emitted having consumed Krul. Apparently an uncomfortable process for him, Ferid voices that eating two high-level progenitors in a single day is rough. Ferid shares that his tummy feels like it will burst.
Where Mahiru remains hugging Guren, in seeing that, Ferid comments if they keep making out over there he will let go of his belt and go full nudist. Ignoring that offense, Guren tells Ferid they are short on time and for them to go.
Treading towards them Ferid addresses Guren as partner, and has something he wants him to listen to. Boldly, Ferid states just so they know he shares Krul's opinion. Attesting that Guren and Mahiru are more broken and dangerous than himself, Ferid brings up what if he told them that he is thinking about killing them both right here and now.
Ferid enquires what would they do. Having the answer, Mahiru raises how Krul was more powerful than she expected, but there is nothing unexpected about Ferid betraying them. Accordingly, Mahiru shares that she has plenty of ways to handle it. Mahiru would like to know if Ferid wants to go ahead and do it now.
From his expression Ferid seemingly indulges in the idea[18] however then conveys that he was just kidding. Repeating that cheerfully, Ferid then turns to something else in mind. After saying oh wait, Ferid wonders if they expected this.
Promptly, and without any warning, Ferid drops his pants. Curious as to what they think, Ferid seeks to acquire the knowledge of did they foresee him doing this. Expressionless at the display, but unequivocally not impressed, Mahiru simply vanishes from sight.
Rather than entertain the lunacy of this occurrence, Guren steps towards Ferid and questions in seriousness does he have a change of clothes. Instead of answering that, Ferid confesses that he is perfectly happy like this, actually.[19]
Having none of it, Guren instructs Ferid to change. Disinclined, Ferid protests why does Guren not strip. Once Guren orders him to die, Ferid gripes that he is so mean. Commanding Ferid to get changed already, Guren states they have to move.
A notable detonation of light erupts close by to Ferid. As Ferid looks to this, Guren also observes what has appeared, where it is a weakened appearing Arcane.[20]
Greeting the familiar, Ferid heads over and says hi there to Arcane. Crouching to it, Ferid merrily speaks how he is Queen Krul now. Ferid asks if Arcane will obey him.
Peering towards him, Arcane weighs up its response. Once Ferid says for Arcane to obey him, he invokes it as a weapon in saying sword, drink his blood. Where Ferid has placed his arm near Arcane's mouth, after a moment it proceeds to do as directed and bites him.
As a violent clash of light envelops Ferid and Arcane, near to this stands Guren who shields his eyes from it. Stationary and composed, Guren observes Ferid who has undergone a change in attire.
While Arcane flits in the air nearby, Ferid stands free from injuries in a new uniform bearing a shoulder cape.[21]
When Arcane flies to perch on Ferid's shoulder, at least four sinful keys are summoned. Ferid nonchalantly stares ahead.
Within Ferid is a sphere in which a lone tree stands. Conscious and appearing alert, Krul finds herself encased in this tree from the waist down. Nearby is Crowley who says hi to her Majesty in a friendly manner. Also close to her is Horn who greets Krul with a hello.
For Chess who is also there, her engagement consists of excitedly exclaiming how this is incredible, that Ferid actually ate the queen. Eagerly questioning now what will happen, Chess wonders how far will Ferid go.[22]
If there was anything to say to them in the moment she considers the three, Krul does not let her thoughts be known. From her position in the tree, Krul beholds the vast, somewhat darkened emptiness before her.[23]

Chapter Notes[]
Cover Details[]
The titular image for chapter 138 features in-universe events where the story is underway. The Seraph of the End logo, the lettering details, and chapter number and name are all situated in the second panel, the top left one where Krul is grasping Guren. For the first panel of the page, significance is attached to the spell tags that rose with Guren when he launched an assault against Krul to defend Mahiru in the previous chapter 137: "The Queen's Time" which are seen here either ineffective or falling powerlessly.
Of the three characters present in the feature image, Krul is in her battle gear, a form made after Arcane consumed her blood, which similarly took place in the previous chapter. While setting about consuming her target's blood, Guren reacts with pain at the ordeal. Mahiru is seen in a state of quiet despair. She would be on the ground, and Mahiru's "despair" would in fact revealed to be a ruse.
- While Mahiru's dread may have been real in the previous chapter when she was being targeted by Krul, after Guren's intervention, and when Krul turned her attention to killing him, it seems to have been the beginning of her ploy. In pleading with Krul to not drink Guren's blood, it had the opposite effect, as desired.
- As before, Krul displays a telekinetic based ability that is able to strike away the demon entity that Mahiru is.
- Although Mahiru was helpless to stop Krul, and Guren was essentially having his blood drained until he died, in speaking that it was over, Mahiru did not mean over for them, but for Krul as her plan involved Krul drinking Guren's poisoned blood.
- Where Krul suspected the Kiseishingon chain of being a slow-acting poison, it would transpire that the swords that Mahiru and Guren each used contained such poison. Krul would have no notion of this as it evidently left no symptoms until the poison delivered its instantaneous paralytic effects.
- Upon the poison's activation, Krul needed no second guess in ascertaining who was behind this plot as she looks to Mahiru.
- The poison that was strong enough to stop a third progenitor vampire who was empowered by their active weapon from moving needed a certain amount of blood to be consumed.
- Should Ferid have failed to devour Krul using Kiseishingon and his demonic hand based capabilities, as he did, Mahiru's next course of action involved undetectable poisons that relied on a vampire consuming blood. They then had a window of time to await Ferid to carry out the devouring.
- Upon activating Arcane as a weapon, Krul noted how it continuously consumes her blood and would stop moving when it ran out. Krul wondered whether it was was wiser to end the battle with Guren and Mahiru now, or acquire blood to continue. It made sense for Krul to seize Guren given he attacked her, and drain him of his blood since it was there to keep her weapon going since Mahiru was still around. Unfortunately for her, Mahiru was counting on Krul doing exactly that. While Krul could not be faulted given she made the most suitable decisions given the circumstances and knowledge that she had, the only setback was not destroying Ferid at the time. Having flung Ferid into a building, then following up to slash him further to ensure he really was out of this battle, Krul kept him there as she meant to interrogate him later. This was prudent, where Ferid was not a threat then but a defeated foe to gain needed answers from given his enhanced state of being, and where he had the capabilities to absorb vampires. Should Krul have ended Ferid entirely then however, and killed Guren right away, but not by drinking his blood, then it is very likely the battle would have ended in her favor barring further surprises from Mahiru.
- For the effects of the poison, there is a heart-beat like effect in a being without an active heart. Clutching her chest and feeling something enough to be shocked, Krul reacts by violently coughing up a large blackened substance which may be poisoned blood. This is left splattered unevenly across the floor.
- Perhaps confidant that Krul was defeated, Mahiru felt at ease in explaining that she could have won had she killed Guren right away.
- Unsurprised at the scene of what is a violent reaction to a substance, this poison's effects on a vampire may have been seen and used by Mahiru before.
- There is more than a personal aspect to Mahiru addressing how Krul was drinking Guren's blood which would be due to their relationship. Mahiru takes measures to ensure her gloating is clear in leaning close to Krul to emphasize she likes the shameless consumption of blood vampires have.
- Given her senses it is very likely that Mahiru is well aware that Ferid is close by. She was not asking if Ferid was there, rather prodding him to come and consume Krul as planned before she perished.
- Based on this, the poison Mahiru relied on was not just able to stun a vampire, and a third progenitor ranked one at that, but also lead to their death in quite a short amount of time.
- Where Mahiru created Cursed Gear that gave human groups such as the Japanese Imperial Demon Army the means to survive after the Catastrophe, she also had this poison which would be markedly useful against powerful foes such as vampires. Where it does not seem common knowledge, it could be something Mahiru reserved for her own use or created recently.
- Left with his head attached by a chain to his torso, and missing a leg in the previous chapter, where Ferid was likely in an even worse state after further punishment from Krul, he is shown completely intact here. This would have likely been possible due to Kiseishingon where Ferid has displayed the ability to restructure smashed body parts.
- As Ferid sets about devouring Krul, Mahiru focuses on Guren's wellbeing. For all the blood he had taken Guren says he feels woozy and faint.
- The second time Krul has found Ferid with the means to overcome her, unlike in chapter 41: "Arrogant Love" Krul does not attempt to make a deal or panic when she was caught by him as she did then. Indeed Krul says nothing at all here after Ferid communicates his goal of eating her.
- As before, there were many instances where Krul could have ended the vampire who threatened to compromise her seraph project by revealing them to the Progenitor Council, outright overthrew her rule and when humans were attacking which cost vampires the battle at Nagoya airport, then turned her over to the council anyway in chapter 42: "Sanguinem's End" to also humiliate her in front of her contemporaries. Furthermore, Krul delivered no consequences for Ferid after she suffered sunlight-exposure torture in chapter 51: "Crucifying the Immortal" due to his actions. It is not like Ferid's plans with others, Krul had no major reason to keep him around. In chapter 114: "Everyone's Goals" Krul comments to Mika that Ferid must have a plan of his own since he is here with Guren, yet would not figure it was one that would involve her being killed and absorbed later. That Krul was able to defeat Ferid should he attack, and more likely a vampire societal ingrained practice of keeping long-lived members alive was compelling enough to stop Krul ending Ferid's existence even when she had multiple reasons to do so.
- Where Krul has faced Ferid as a being who can absorb other vampires, produced an unbreakable chain, and displayed a demon-based hand transformation, it is a different type of uncertainty that Krul has here in wondering what is going on as she finds herself defeated.
- This chapter has a flashback scene to when Krul and Ashera were human children living together, which is uncommon as when they are seen in the past, more often it is them as vampires.
- The Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman appearing architecture may denote Krul and Ashera's location of upbringing, where they inhabited a rural location as well.
- Where the buildings are different, Ashera and Krul may have been living in a different location than their home seen in chapter 69: "The Day the Sun Was Lost" or it may be a different depiction of the same residence in this chapter.
- Ashera and Krul were shown to be vampires in ancient Greece. Whether they lived there when they were humans, or were moved, as vampires they were present in ancient Greece during the dark ages.
- Where both Krul and Ashera are seen as humans, this is possibly the earliest known account of their lives at this point in the series. They were seen as children in chapter 69, where many past scenarios of them have shown they were vampires, such as Ashera being turned into one in chapter 79: "Eternal Hell" and Krul in chapter 116: "Brother and Sister".
- The waxing crescent moon in the night sky may be some indication of the timing of Ashera and Krul's conversation in the flashback scene.
- For their warm sibling connection, Ashera and Krul shared a bed together and discussed matters late into the night on one occasion.
- Since Krul had heard a story from the Pasha, a high-ranking minister, given their rural location it may imply that Krul had travelled to a more urban location that day, or the Pasha had visited their household. This might indicate the relation the Tepes family had as nobles with ministers in their region.
- Either way, where a vampire was detailed, the Pasha was evidently warning others of what seemed a recent arrival. This update is likely something Krul overheard rather than being spoke to in person.
- Where Krul was describing a vampire, Ashera may have been speaking that such blood-sucking monsters did not exist, or that specific one Krul mentioned as living on the other side of the mountain did not exist. In chapter 116 there were slave traders who regarded Ashera as a vampire, since he was an actual one then. In such an era as the dark ages of Greece, vampires may have been viewed as fictional or were known to the masses to be real. Even though there were actual vampires alive in these historical times, their existence may not have been common knowledge. For a supposed vampire living on the other side of the mountain, it could have been Urd Geales or Rigr Stafford but it is doubtful how possible this is. Also unlikely is that there was an individual unknown vampire living in that location at the time. While Ashera had his doubts about the one mentioned, rather than Krul being spooked by a fairy tale based belief of a vampire, she may have been concerned about a real living one.
- Krul had gotten her information from the Pasha, which in the chapter is specified to be the title of a high ranking minister. In this person's capacity, they may have been warning of an actual vampire in the area, though as for who it is the chapter does not elucidate.
- For her age and what she is accustomed to, Krul claims she could not change her own clothes.
- There are a number of large barrels, crates, and a bucket in Ashera and Krul's bedroom.
- In dismissing the idea that blood-sucking monsters did not exist, Ashera did register the outcome Krul was after and assured her he would rescue her in the event she was taken.
- After being turned into a vampire, Ashera would deliver on his promise of finding and rescuing Krul, though the monster in question who had taken her would be the human Lady of the Estate.
- While Krul would be unable to do the same, particularly when Ashera was taken away by Sika Madu in chapter 49: "Progenitor's Memory", she did take measures to try namely by making a deal with Mahiru to help her in exchange for getting Ashera back.
- The chapter title Really for Real is a rare case where it is connected to words used in the chapter story. After Krul questions if Ashera would save her if a monster took her away, and asks if he would really for real, the words are also spoken by Ashera who responds with the same phrase. A third mention of it is said by Krul when she is assuring Ashera that she would come rescue him too. Presently, there is a fourth mention when Krul speaks how they promised really for real in an indication of how significant those words between her and Ashera were.
- After recalling her past with Ashera, Krul feels that the true monsters were humans, which may be her impression of the ones that burned their house down and murdered her and Ashera's mother in chapter 69.
- Some personal thoughts on demons were divulged by Krul in chapter 11: "Queen's Contract" where she described one turning into an ugly mindless demon. As a vampire here and now in this chapter, Krul regards vampires as blood-drinking monsters where she feels one too.
- After mentioning how her brother turned into a vampire then he made her a monster too, the "he" could refer to Sika Madu though.
- Where it was in a way Ashera who turned Krul into what is felt to be a monster since he requested Sika Madu do this in chapter 116 to restore her after she died, it was technically Sika Madu's blood that transformed Krul.
- Krul guesses she could not keep her promise to get Ashera back. She perhaps saw a chance in chapter 94: "Hole in the Sun" where she urged Asuramaru to take over Yu's body, yet ultimately that seemed Krul's means of achieving her goal.
- For the vampire who tried to drain him of all his blood, Guren tells Krul he will keep their promise to bring Ashera back. Guren's method is to resurrect both Ashera and Krul as humans.
- Not affording this treatment to other vampires, Guren may be motivated to help Krul from working on joint plans starting in chapter 38: "The Namanari Awakens" and chapter 39: "The Beginning of the Plan" but also because they share the same goal of helping someone close to them.
- Although Krul hears from Guren of his intent to resurrect her and Ashera, it is Mahiru who Krul looks to for the promise. Krul sees Mahiru as the one with the power and is sure that she can do it. Krul adds she can trust Mahiru, where there were no words for Guren let alone of this depth.
- Having deemed Mahiru the greater threat than Ferid and meaning to end her after her betrayal, in the end Krul speaks of trusting Mahiru to be the one able to bring Ashera back.
- While Guren spoke of keeping their promise, Mahiru is upfront that it might be impractical. Given the state of the world and their own desperate circumstances, Mahiru is unable to make such a promise.
- Describing herself as a girl who went through a lot due to others, it is similar to what Mahiru told Krul of herself in chapter 98: "The King's Chambers".
- Where Krul understands Mahiru after she said she could not make such a promise, Krul requests that she at least try.
- Although Mahiru's words were hardly comforting, she does offer solace to Krul in taking her hand and speaking that they would attempt to restore Ashera.
- In the moment Krul may have thought she was to be murdered in speaking that she would have to go on ahead, however she would be confined to the tree based prison Ferid was using to contain vampires and drain their strength.
- The symbolism of two birds is seemingly used to illustrate Krul and Ashera being together, where one is coming to an end with the initial symbolism of falling feathers.
- For Ashera's whereabouts, he disappeared after his power was consumed by Yu in chapter 118: "I Hear Voices" for him and Mika to escape Akihabara.
- Their conversation coming to an end, Mahiru regards the skyline with her back turned to Krul as Ferid approaches her for what they have all planned.
- In contrast to the graphic and frankly horrifying manner of Crowley being murdered and devoured in chapter 134 "Reincarnation Rondo" and chapter 135: "Front Seats to the End" the consumption of Krul is kept off-panel in this chapter. Not that it stops it being any less unsettling given it is essentially a monster consuming a small girl as others stand by indifferently.
- As Ferid performs his horror, Mahiru focuses on asking Guren if he is okay. Without answering how he is feeling, Guren asks Mahiru in turn.
- Guren was fine speaking how he was physically after experiencing blood loss, but not how he feels when Mahiru was seemingly enquiring about that.
- Speaking that she is not okay, Mahiru can share what seems her genuine feelings though with a smile as she happily details how there is nothing fun in this world. Mahiru helps herself to a hug from Guren where he seems dazed if anything in not reciprocating.
- For the time passed, Ferid has consumed Crowley and Krul in the same day.
- Where the scenario concerning Ferid and Krul is occurring simultaneously with Yu and Mika engaging the vampire progenitors, the same day has covered events from chapter 131: "Exoneration for Everyone" until this chapter 138.
- Where vampires sustain themselves on blood, it may be literal that Ferid is able to ingest two entities of Crowley and Krul's size. They may have been literally consumed to be in his stomach rather than being sent straight to what is a demon-based realm where a tree is to contain them from his comment that his tummy feels like it will burst. Alternatively, when those devoured are taken into the demon realm it may still induce a feeling of being physically full in any case.
- While it was just Mahiru hugging Guren, Ferid decides to call it them making out, where for some reason he then threatens to go nude if they keep doing this.
- Unless Guren was saying they were short on time to move them on from this scenario on account that Ferid was empowered with the strength of a third progenitor and so was thought of as an immediate threat now, it seems the case there is more to Guren, Mahiru and Ferid's joint exercises. It is not known if they are aware that Yu and Mika are in the vicinity, but they might have an idea that higher ranked vampires including Urd, Saito, then Lest Karr and Ky Luc are as well. Having plans concerning both factions, Guren and Mahiru seek Yu and Mika as the route to resurrecting humanity. They may retain their goals expressed in chapter 114: "Everyone's Goals" where Guren pressured Yu to follow the path of using the sinful keys to resurrect all the fallen humans over Mika. Another option is that Guren and Mahiru could continue their campaign of assisting Ferid absorb stronger vampires of which the strongest ones in the world are in the locality. Practically, fifth progenitor Ky Luc would be a candidate for Ferid to consume for his strength to be sapped, however he is among a group including another third progenitor and the two second progenitors.
- For the collective strength Guren with Mahiru and Ferid have now, they may find such vampires such as the progenitors to be in alliance with Yu and Mika as the latter two were willing in chapter 132: "Battle to The First" to make such a pact to gain the sinful keys from Guren for their own usage.
- Another contender that could give Mahiru, Guren, and Ferid pause is Shinoa who has displayed the power to summon and control other people's demons as she done in chapter 133: "Maidens in Love". There, Shinoa could manifest Kiseki-o and Gekkouin to the physical world. Further, Shinoa has the backing of her squad including Mitsuba, then Yoichi, and Kimizuki as well where they are prepared to act of their own volition even against Guren and Mahiru. Additionally, Shinoa has seemingly outright absorbed the powers of Shikama Doji in the previous chpater 136: "The Godtouched".
- When Ferid says that he shared Krul's opinion that Guren and Mahiru are more dangerous than him, this was said by Krul in the previous chapter. Where Ferid had been flung away into multiple buildings he either had the hearing capabilities to hear what she had said after he was slashed into or moved closer enough to be able to hear Krul speak this. If he had moved closer, Ferid may not have been out the battle as Krul thought, but could have been close by for a potential renewed assault just in case Mahiru and Guren became compromised.
- For his personal views, and those of others, Ferid speaks of himself as being broken and dangerous. For Guren and Mahiru he considers them more so.
- Ranging from a fragile, to not even established but able to work in certain circumstances alliance, Ferid speaks of killing Mahiru and Guren right away after Krul is down. It may be the case Ferid just sought their reaction, he certainly seems set on consuming other vampires of which their help has proved pivotal.
- Not daunted at all by Ferid's proposal of killing them, Mahiru has an enterprising look of her own in having a solution to this. Where it was her poisoned sword, and Guren's poisoned for Krul blood that led to the third progenitor's demise, Mahiru demonstrated how she could overcome someone unexpectedly more powerful. Regardless of Ferid's current power, Mahiru assures him she has plenty of ways to handle him. Far from intimidated by what would always be the real threat of Ferid's possible betrayal, Mahiru challenges him if he would like to try it now, which succeeds in inducing him to pass his intent off as a joke.
- Maybe convincing himself that he had to see what Mahiru and Guren were prepared for, or overcome by a particular strain of madness unique to himself, but for whatever undiagnosed reason Ferid decides to drop his pants in front of them.
- Confronted by the sight of Ferid with his pants down, Mahiru vanishes to spare herself the sight. Mahiru's response was much more reserved than her sister Shinoa, who in Chapter 61: "Who Is More Bored?" decided to use her scythe to cut Ferid's head off after he invited them to the show where he was entirely naked.
- The relatively small explosion of light may indicate how Arcane is able to manifest where it might not need to fly to where it wants. Consequently in chapter 135 when Arcane appeared again it may not have flown to Krul from wherever it happened to be, rather was manifested since it functioned as a weapon.
- For its appearance, alternatively and more likely, is that while Krul was absorbed by Ferid and consigned to the tree prison, Arcane as an independent being, and notably not a vampire where the tree is made for them, was sent back.
- Serving as her battle gear, Arcane looks exhausted upon its return. Where Krul endured no injuries to her exterior, Arcane as her fused weapon may have also been affected by the poison, or true to what Krul said could no longer move if it had no blood while active as the weapon. In any case, it is the first case of Arcane appearing weary.
- Seeing it, Ferid engages with Arcane right away and is friendly in seeking to have it become his weapon.
- Where Krul could smell the presence of Crowley on Ferid, it may be the same when Ferid said that he was Krul now. Krul's presence on Ferid may have factored into it complying with the direction to drink his blood and function as Ferid's weapon.
- While it seemed the case that Arcane as an invoked weapon had fused with Krul's attire for her battle form, it remains independent when Ferid activates it.
- Presumably the first time Ferid has embraced this weapon, he also undergoes an appearance change. Like Krul before, it seems he is healed of injuries as well.
- As with demons who are able to generate their own clothing appearances as Demon Mika did when he was without memories in chapter 108: "Yu's Sword", the Arcane weapon possibly materializes what the user wants it to form.
- Although not a part of Ferid's active weapon, Arcane displays its synergy in landing on his shoulder where it is fully loyal to him now.
- Anticipating the worst when Ferid demonstrates this particular weapon, the sinful keys are generated.
- Someone is holding four sinful keys. In chapter 109: "Moving Pieces" Guren had three to himself, where Ferid had one. Where the sinful keys were connected to the resurrection discussed underneath Akihabara in chapter 114, they had all gathered into either Guren or Ferid's possession.
- The Tree Within Ferid first introduced in chapter 135 appears again here. While other vampires trapped throughout it are not shown, neither is the Aspect of Ferid, Crowley along with Horn and Chess are seen where Krul has been situated among them.
- Where Crowley was brought out of the tree trunk and entangled with branches as the aspect of Ferid enacted his plans he has been re-confined the the main section of the tree in this chapter.
- This is the first seen instance of Horn and Chess interacting with Krul. Where Horn greets her civilly, Chess is almost rambunctious in speaking how Ferid also ate her.
- Although slowly being turned into a demon, unable to escape, and seeing other vampires snared, Chess is very enthused in her interest on how far Ferid can go.
