"The World I Want" (俺が目指すセカイ Ore ga mezasu sekai?) is the one hundred and fortieth chapter of the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga series, written by Takaya Kagami and illustrated by Yamato Yamamoto.
Synopsis[]
As Yu eats, Saito and Urd discuss the First. Yu shares that he and Mika are checking the information gained from Shikama Doji. Revealing that someone else acquired the majority of the First's power, Yu displays the three spells he gained.
Yu feels the vampires would also share his goal of saving the world. When Urd mentions that God punished the First for attempting to revive the angels, Yu says he and Mika have the spells to avoid that. After Saito notes the First failed to revive Mikaela, Yu won't answer how they can overcome that until the vampires agree to help them.
Feeling Saito is smart like Guren and Mahiru, his help is sought to fulfil the First's dream and restore all the worlds. As the plan involves breaking taboo, Urd is against it and proceeds to attack Yu. Stopping him, Saito remembers Shikama Doji burning. While he made a mistake, Saito feels they haven't. Saito seeks Urd's assistance in restoring all where Yu feels they have agreed to help.
Ky Luc notices humans have escaped and intends to hunt them for sport. Kureto, Aoi, Shinya and Guren's squad are the escapees, however Ky Luc still catches up to them. Ky Luc finds Ferid attempting to attack him.

Summary[]
Situated in a room, Saito and Urd sit at one end of a dining table. For who they are opposite, Urd speaks to Rigr to ask what this is about. Saito questions what Urd means. Where Yu is the one at the other end of the table, and eating loudly with two maids nearby, Urd wonders why Saito is allowing this.[1]
Answering what else could he do, Saito informs Urd that they do not have the full picture yet. Saito adds it is not like Yu is attempting to escape. Glancing to Yu who has finished multiple plates, Urd supposes it is true he is not doing that. Addressing it, Urd asks Saito did he ever eat like that when he were human. Continuing to regard Yu, he replies he does not remember honestly. Saito feels it was too long ago.[2]
Having another question, Urd wonders if Rigr thinks that vision he saw in the First's mind was true. When Saito checks if he means the one from the time of the angels, Urd confirms yes. The scene of Sika Madu, along with Bael and Paimon is visualized. Where Mikaela had perished as had Paimon in the memory, Saito appears to ponder the situation.[3]
Urd checks with Saito if he truly believes the First did not leave them instead had acted to save them. As Saito contemplates something, Urd speaks to him to address the one he wanted revenge on after all this time. Detailing that he does not mind, Saito claims he never truly wanted revenge after all, he simply wanted to reach him.[4]
When Urd raises now that he has reached him, Saito answers who can say before adding their father never told them much of anything. For that, Urd states it is just as Saito does not tell them anything. Urd adds Saito and the First are much alike. Happy at the comment, Saito responds he won't deny it.[5]
Saito turns to speak to Yu who is in the middle of dining at the opposite end of the table. After Saito questions would he not give himself a stomach-ache by eating that much, Yu responds that he needed a whole load of calories to support Mika. Helping Saito and Urd to understand it is energy for him as well, Yu adds that Mika is attempting to analyze all the info they ingested from the First.[6]
Sat in their sphere together, while Yu concentrates on the conversation at hand, Mika is using a circular spell ability in his process of analyzing the memories. Attentive to what Yu just said, Mika is surprised. Turning to him, Mika says for Yu to hang on where he is shocked that he is actually saying that.[7]
Yu gives a thumbs up to Mika in their sphere as he listens to Saito respond in the room. Commenting now this is odd, Saito remembers that Yu told them before that it was another human, one who is his enemy who had devoured the First. Confirming that is true, Yu clarifies they got about seventy percent of the First's power. As for the other thirty percent, Yu divulges Shikama Doji entrusted that to him.[8]
Using his hand, Yu manifests the three spells that Shikama Doji bequeathed him. The spell to revive Mikaela is formed, as is the spell to hide the world from Paradise, and a spell to destroy Paradise. Beholding them, Saito can only ask what is that.[9]
Yu explains it is magic that the First gave him for saving the world, or at least he thinks it is. Saito addresses the saving the world part. Having the idea that Saito saw the First's memories, Yu reveals the information he and Mika got from Shikama Doji told them he did.[10]
For this revelation, Urd glances to Saito for his response to this. Giving it some thought, Saito's gaze narrows as he realizes this may really be the case. For Yu and Mika being able to know what he saw, Saito questions and. Speaking that he figured the two of them, Saito and Urd, were probably after the same thing, Yu details that is why he disclosed just a small amount of what they know.[11]
In response, Saito questions what does Yu want. Having told them before, Yu triumphantly announces that they are going to take all the humans and the vampires, then even the First as well. Finishing Yu's sentence, though hardly appearing as enthusiastic about it, Saito speaks if it is to save all the worlds.[12]
The excitement gone at what Saito said, Yu displays a different type in affirming yes it is that. Yu is happy to say they are going to save all the worlds, before adding that sounds so cool. Having a question, Urd asks Yu if that include reviving the angels. Yu happily answers yes.[13]
It is said that when the First attempted that very thing he was punished by God. Undaunted, Yu states they have got a spell to hide the world from Paradise as he points to it levitating above him. Yu adds they also have a spell to destroy Paradise right here. Not overlooking the third one there, Saito questions what that one is.[14]
After Yu points out that it is supposed to be a spell to revive Mikaela, the idea seems to be contemplated by Saito. According to the First's memories Mikaela was infused with an immense amount of light. As Mikaela is envisioned it is thought that with that power all the angels could be revived.[15]
For the idea of restoring him, Saito mentions to Yu that despite millennia of attempts, the First never successfully brought Mikaela back. Saito continues to elucidate that the First tried and tried, but every attempt ended in failure. Grinning, Yu affirms they will not fail. Yu adds he and Mika figured out what the First did wrong.[16]
When Saito queries what it is that was learned, Yu replies that he cannot tell until he promises to work with them. From the sword, Mika shares with Yu that verbal promises with them are just so much hot air. Answering Mika via thoughts, Yu says just let him as Saito's answer is awaited. Speaking to Saito to raise how he has been chasing after the First for ages, Yu brings up that in order to resist the Japanese Demon Army that the First created he founded the Hyakuya Sect.[17]
Following on from that, Yu also states that Saito built the Hyakuya Orphanage in response. Mika and Yu as children are recalled along with another orphan. For the present conversation, Yu says to Saito that means he is smart. As his hand radiates an energy, Yu continues that Saito has got access to all the human spells and all the vampire knowledge. Yu also feels Saito has smarts to rival, if not outdo Guren and Mahiru.[18]
Radiating the three powers above Urd and Saito where they shine ever brighter, Yu requests that they help him research the spells. Having another idea on the spot, Yu says to wait before adjusting his exalted idea to direct Saito to take over the First's dream and save all the worlds.[19]
Regarding the spells, Saito keeps his thoughts of what Yu brought up to himself. It is Urd who speaks first, standing to declare that he is against this. Of the view that there is a much safer, easier option right in front of them, Urd has made up his mind. Speaking of returning to paradise, reviving the angels despite it breaking taboo, Urd addresses how the First's failures already showed them that happens when trying those.[20]
As Urd glances while speaking in which case, Yu looks back calmly, meanwhile Saito says to wait. Saito's direction unheeded, Urd leaps atop the table readying his sword with his eyes on Yu. Even faster in his response, Saito launches a chain to apprehend Urd's weapon.[21]
When Urd commands Rigr to let him go, Saito replies no. Joining him on top of the table, Saito keeps Urd's sword bound. As Yu watches the exchange silently, Urd questions Saito why repeat the same mistakes.[22]
The memory of a landscape of angel graves is recalled. A plume of smoke rises from a location in Earth's prehistory. On fire and burning continuously, Sika Madu screamed in anguish. Remembering being present in the memory, Saito observed this scene without showing any emotion.[23]
It is recalled that at the time of Saito viewing this scenario, he knelt down to the memory of Sika Madu burning and said that he heard him while addressing him as father. Saito spoke now he will.[24]
Presently, Saito says to Urd that while father's actions may have been a mistake, they still have not made a single one. While Urd appears to await what else is to be said, Saito elaborates that simply wasting the days until eternity ends without a single hope would make them nothing more than vampires.[25]
His sword remains wrapped with Saito's chain as Urd seems to consider this. Sharing his thoughts, Urd tells Saito that he does not want what happened to the First to happen to him. Urd adds Saito is one step away from the point of no return. Voicing is that not what it means to live, Saito then questions or has Urd been around so long that he has forgotten. Clenching his teeth in anger, Urd speaks that he will not accept that logic.[26]
Shouting that Saito abandoned them and dumped the duty of maintaining the world's balance on them, Urd adds so they did, the whole time Saito was gone. Composed, Saito simply replies well now that mission is over then says good job to Urd. Pointing out now he has returned to him, Saito loosens his chain from Urd's sword.[27]
His weapon freed, Urd swings his blade at Saito, only stopping to keep it pointed at his throat. If Urd is not going to cut off his head then Saito says for Urd to then join him and help save all the worlds. When Urd mentions that Saito is always too selfish, Saito responds that Urd is always too nice.[28]
Commencing a different engagement, Saito has a chain fire out his back which stabs into the table where Yu is seated. Remaining quiet, Yu looks to the chain jabbed in front of him. Questioning him, Saito asks Yu if this has gone how he had hoped. A follow up question of a different tone is Saito asking whether Yu is really the First attempting to have them act as he wants.[29]
Evidently not having paid any mind to the darkened aura around the serious accusation of being the First, it would seem that Yu has heard what he wanted too. Determined, Yu is pleased in confirming that it has gone the way he had hoped. In the belief that Saito and Urd mean to help him, Yu informs them that they are the best.[30]
For Yu not even registering that he is under suspicion of being the First, and where they have not even formally agreed to help, Urd seems to regard him as some strange entity, where Saito has a look of moderate bewilderment. Elated, Yu rises to his feet to announce that the whole save all the worlds thing sounds way cooler than Guren's save all humanity thing which Yu likes.[31]
Where Saito remains taken aback if anything, Yu has joined him and Urd on the table. Pleased to say the least, Yu declares to Saito and Urd for them to do this. Yu affirms they are going to save all the worlds. For the very idea, Urd can only look to Saito who is at a loss for words.[32]
While fiery smoke rises from a ruined building, Ky Luc is perched on a wall looking up. Speaking aloud that he is so not interested in all that complicated stuff, Ky Luc feels it is not like there is any meaning to life in the first place.[33]
As a girl passes by, Ky Luc calls to her to ask what she thinks. Where the girl is surprised at being spoken to, Ky Luc says for her to answer him in the next three seconds or he will drink her dry. While Ky Luc begins the count down right away, the girls asks what was his question.[34]
When Ky Luc states his question was what is the meaning of life, the girl responds that she never really thought about it. His expression unreadable at the response, Ky Luc stands as he feels there, that is the right answer. Judging it is all just for kicks and giggles, Ky Luc concludes there is no innate meaning to the world.[35]
Turning, Ky Luc mentions at least he has not found any so far. The girl breathes as Ky Luc seems to walk away from her. Indeed heading into the building, Ky Luc surveys the area and is dismayed to find that all the humans have run away.[36]
Saying aloud that everybody is trying so hard to live, Ky Luc feels however if these particular guys are left alive then there is the question of whether they would get in Lord Urd's way. Shielding his eyes to look around, Ky Luc guesses he will make the point of living through today by killing them. Ky Luc says it is time to hunt some rabbits.[37]
The group Ky Luc is wary of and means to hunt are running. Aoi along with Kureto run with Shinya. With them are members of the Moon Demon Company, namely Guren squad including Goshi and Mito. Almost certainly with them are Sayuri and Shigure. Looking behind them, Shinya and Kureto seem aware they are being pursued. When Shinya shouts to Kureto they know, he sees they have caught up already.[38]
For who knows, it is Ky Luc who appears in front of them. Kureto is near Shinya as he shouts damn. Commanding everyone to stop, there is the order to prepare for battle. To this, Ky Luc tells them even if they stop he will still kill them all. Ky Luc says for them to try to put up enough of a fight so that he can kill at least a bit of time as he calls for his sword.[39]
Affected by something, Ky Luc is nearly on his knees yet can turn to the source of the pressure. Surprised, Ky Luc sees Ferid nearing him. While Ferid is disappointed that Ky Luc noticed he still prepares to swing at him. Livid and excited in equal measure, Ky Luc shouts Ferid Bathory's name.[40]

Chapter Notes[]
Cover Details[]
The feature image for chapter 140 concerns in-universe events as the story is underway. The first characters seen are two minor new ones namely unnamed attendants who are nearer the opposite end of the table where Saito sits at the head with Urd beside him. The sound effects are from Yu eating, who is unseen in this image yet it would be shown to be him later. As part of the story events underway, Urd speaks to Saito, who he calls the name he knows him as, Rigr. All the lettering details including the Seraph of the End logo, chapter number and title are all featured in the middle third panel.
- Although Saito and Urd are both second progenitors there is no equality indicated in the seating arrangement with Urd at the side. This was similar in chapters Chapter 131: "Exoneration for Everyone" and Chapter 132: "Battle to The First" where Saito alone was sat on a throne while other vampires were standing beside him.
- For what foods Yu may prefer, he has finished several plates while leaving a basket of bread and fruit including apples and bananas.
- Watching Yu eat, Urd questions if Saito ever ate like that. This may imply that he has never seen Saito eat, so it may be an indication for how long he knew him. Saito and Urd were seen as humans in a prison together in Chapter 114: "Everyone's Goals" which could have been the earliest point they met. For how he ate, Saito states he does not remember since it was too long ago.
- From Urd asking about what Saito saw, it would seem he did not view the First's memories directly but has been given an account of them. It appears that Saito summarized parts and told Urd that the First did not leave the vampires, instead acted to save them. Saito reached this conclusion in Chapter 130: "The Light Which Remains" after seeing what Sika Madu endured.
The memory of the First on page 3, who went by the name Sika Madu at the time, is from Chapter 128: "The Wings of Icarus" where he was in the Tower of Babel. Also envisioned are Bael who is holding the deceased Paimon. From Paimon's attack on Mikaela commencing in Chapter 127: "Love or Loyalty" he would end up dying of which the remembered scene is from the aftermath. Of the characters remembered in this chapter, Mikaela was not shown here yet he would have been there in the memory where he was held deceased by Sika Madu.
- This chapter shows that Saito certainly saw the events within the Tower of Babel, as well as that of Shikama Doji burning for attempting his resurrection which was shown in Chapter 129: "The First Vampire".
- For all the time he has been seeking revenge against the First, in this chapter Saito claims he never truly wanted revenge rather wanted to reach him. A similar sentiment was expressed in Chapter 81: "Fallen Wings" when Saito was battling the First who was possessing Shinoa's body and spoke of having the First see him.
- Where they are said to not tell others anything, Urd comments that Saito and Shikama Doji are alike in that regards in an indication of his views on them. On Saito's part he appears pleased to be thought of as similar to the First.
- For all his hunger Yu shows he is also conscious of supporting Mika hence the amount he is eating.
- A circular shaped power is at Mika's disposal who is presumably using it to filter through the First's memories while he can remain near Yu in their sphere. Mika used a different type of shining ring like structures to access memories to the past in Chapter 122: "Calories for Travel".
- Yu elects to divulge that Mika is analyzing information gained from the First, problematic since it reveals to the second progenitors that they are the ones who have absorbed Shikama Doji's powers, additionally are currently viewing them.
- Picking up on this right away, Saito recalls that Yu told them that a human who was his enemy was the one who consumed the First's power. Saito correctly remembers this from the previous chapter Chapter 139: "Two Monsters".
- Honest about someone else gaining the First's power, Yu clarifies here, again honestly, that they gained most of it at seventy percent. While Saito assumed the human referred to was Mahiru or Guren in the previous chapter, Yu is careful in not to reveal information on the other recipient. Using "they" he does not reveal their gender, neither does Yu disclose to Saito that it was Shinoa who acquired most of Shikama Doji's power. This would be in keeping with Yu and Mika's plan, by letting Saito think this enemy is Guren or Mahiru it is a way of gaining the vampires' help to acquire the sinful keys Yu and Mika need from them.
- The sight of the three spells seems new for Saito where Urd would be another vampire to learn of them as well.
- Both Urd and Saito seem caught off guard that Yu and Mika are aware that the First's memories have been seen by them. This would indicate that Shikama Doji knew that Saito was accessing particular memories, of which this knowledge was gained by Yu and Mika.
- Where Yu's goal was to restore humans, vampires, and angels, after Saito's input he updates his goal to what he said, namely saving all the worlds. Either Saito or Yu may mean worlds that each species lives in such as their way or lives, or literally save other worlds. There are different realms such as the ones demons occupy, there were also Satellite Kingdoms established across physical planets in the galaxy.
- Envisioned alive, that Mikaela was said to be infused with an immense amount of light is something detailed in Chapter 129: "The First Vampire". Specifically, the light has been infused in seven sinful keys.
- While it seems the case that Saito has seen all the memories Yu has, it is aside from a most major one. In Chapter 130: "The Light Which Remains" Saito was seeing memories including the first humans seen on Earth and how angel spirits were linked to them. It seems Saito did not notice that a child resembling Yu had received the spirit of Mikaela. The spirit of Mikaela conscious in the body of the dark-haired youth then arranged a plan with a homunculus named Yu for them to switch places. Mikaela's spirit would hide in a human, where Yu the homunculus would physically change into Mikaela's corpse. Accordingly Shikama Doji would never succeed in resurrecting Mikaela because the body he had was the homunculus imitating him, meanwhile Mikaela's spirit was elsewhere. This exchange was not noticed by Sika Madu around the time it happened, neither when Saito was checking the memories. Rather than Saito not noticing something so pivotal, he may have accessed Sika Madu's memories, who did not witness Mikaela and the homunculus arrange this plan, however Yu and Mika could view the event due to their links to the Mikaela and homunculus Yu of the past.
- In any case, the plan Mikaela and Yu the homunculus made remains known only known to Yu and Mika despite Sika Madu and Saito being so close they had the possibility of learning of it.
- Withholding this knowledge asset, Yu grins that he and Mika know where Shikama Doji failed, yet will not reveal the details until Saito and Urd promise to work with them. As for what they have arranged, Yu and Mika would want the vampires to help regain the sinful keys from Guren. With them, Yu and Mika intend to resurrect Mikaela for him to use his resurrection method, one they assume is different to that of the First's and Guren's in that it requires no sacrifices.
- When the Japanese Demon Army and the Hyakuya Sect is mentioned, it would appear that the latter group is visualized.
- Upon the Hyakuya Orphanage being mentioned, a flashback scene is used to illustrate this. The memory shows Mika as a child playing with a ball while Yu as a child is brought to the orphanage by Saito. Another orphan that may be a depiction of Akane or a generic orphan is also shown.
- Such a scene of Mika playing with a ball seeing Yu brought to the orphanage by Saito was first depicted in Chapter 22: "Taboo Krul".
- Yu's words of Saito rivalling Guren and Mahiru's smarts was more apt than the idea of outdoing them in practice. In chapter Chapter 84: "Nativity of a Princess" Saito's plan of betraying Guren, along with Mahiru and Noya, to absorb his power cost him his victory over Shikama Doji, then end with Saito having his lower half obliterated by a sinful key from Ferid acting on Guren's side, and then left at Ferid's mercy in Chapter 91: "Orphan Prince", to require rescue from Urd.
- For the help Yu requests from Saito, in this chapter it concerns researching the three spells, namely the spell to revive Mikaela, along with a spell to hide the world from Paradise, and the spell to destroy Paradise. The paradise mentioned where the deity is said to reside is the Sun. Thus that spell to be researched may involve literally destroying the Sun.
- Similarly, there is an amendment to what Yu would like Saito to do. Yu suggests Saito take over the First's dream and save all the worlds, an idea he is open to.
- It may not have been of any relevance where it might have just been a depiction of the spells in general, however if the panel showing two of them were the ones Saito was specifically focusing on then he was looking at the method to resurrect Mikaela and the spell of hiding the world from Paradise. Were it Saito's perspective, the one spell he was not focusing on was the method to destroy Paradise.
- Firmly against the ideas, Urd seems to think removing Yu is the best means of avoiding any issues that arise should matters of returning to Paradise or reviving angels be explored.
- If it is a measure of speed, Saito is able to use his Chains to grasp Urd's sword when he moves to assail Yu. In Chapter 105: "Saito and Urd" it was shown that Saito is able to decisively defeat Urd in combat, to the point where he could fake victories to him before. For more current times, Saito's abilities in evading Urd's attacks, and speed using chains was witnessed in Chapter 50: "Brothers in Blood" as well.
- The grave markers in this chapter are from a memory, they are angel graves of which this landscape was first seen in Chapter 128: "The Wings of Icarus". Of the human-appearing angels at least Bael, then Paimon, and Belial would have grave markers there by that time.
- The memory of the First burning during Chapter 129: "The First Vampire" among the gravestones is from Earth's prehistory. Around that time Sika Madu has been changed into the first vampire to burn for eternity after he was targeted by an angel along with seraphs who were armed with trumpets said to be acting under God's orders.
- Viewing the scene of Sika Madu burning may have factored into Saito's decision to proceed with carrying out his plan. After this recollection, Saito would reason to Urd that while the First's actions may have been a mistake given what they ended in due to others, he feels they still have not made a single mistake. A purpose Saito seems to have formed is to not simply live wasted days as vampires.
- Aside from retribution from others, Urd says he does not want Saito to experience what the First did as a reason for being against the saving the world plan.
- From being one step away from the point of no return, Saito questions is that not what it means to live in perhaps another indication for his willingness to proceed with this.
- Turning his attention to Yu, after asking whether this has gone as he hoped, Saito adds a follow-up question of a different variety in checking whether the First is in control of him. There seems no better clarification of this suspicion of who this really is when Yu answers that it is, and they are the best. It seems Yu completely missed Saito's question on whether he is First and in focusing on only the first thing said, Yu thinks they have also agreed to help him.
- Triumphant, Yu decides to join Saito and Urd on the table to announce they are going to save all the worlds.
- In speaking that he is not interested in all that complicated stuff, it seems implied that Ky Luc overheard the conversation between Yu with Saito and Urd. An indicator of his senses was shown in Chapter 132: "Battle to The First" where Ky Luc appeared to be able view locations visually even without looking with his eyes. His hearing and this perception likely would have allowed him to overhear everything. For angels mentioned and restoring worlds Ky Luc comments he is simply not interested in such matters.
- A girl seen in this chapter constitutes a minor character appearing in the series, her response that she has never really thought about the meaning of life is an answer Ky Luc seems satisfied which may very well have saved her life.
- Where Shinya and Kureto were confined to separate prison cells, the inside of the building Ky Luc enters may have been where Aoi and Guren's squad were kept.
- Wary of particular humans that may get in Urd's way, Ky Luc thinks to pursue them. It transpires that he was referring to members of the Moon Demon Company who Ky Luc regards as rabbits to hunt.
- When Shinya and Kureto escaped prison in Chapter 136, the hostages they would succeed in rescuing were Aoi and members of Guren's squad.
- They are not seen fully yet it is all but certain that Sayuri and Shigure are the other members of the group who are seen escaping.
- Guren's squad collectively were last seen in Chapter 85: "The Guinea Pigs Gather". The chains Guren stabbed into them in Chapter 83: "Two Demons" to sap their power had fizzled away, at which point they sought to go after Guren who meant to save the world by himself. Their status and whereabouts was not specified after the vampire progenitors seized Shibuya. Like Aoi it is likely they were captured, to be freed at this point.
- Aoi was last seen in person in Chapter 80: "Lightning over Shibuya" when she was preparing for the defence of Shibuya against Saito and the invading Hyakuya Sect army. Her whereabouts where unclear particularly as of Chapter 106: "I Am Your..." when Kureto was captured by Urd of which it is probable that she would have been around him. When the vampire progenitor faction formally conquered Shibuya in practice during Chapter 121: "Last Dawn" it is likely that Aoi would have been one of those captured. It would seem that Aoi may have been released by Kureto and Shinya after they were freed from prison unintentionally by Urd in Chapter 136: "The Godtouched" when he was attempting to prevent Yu and Mika from reaching the First in his prison.
- While Aoi was last seen active in story events, she has been seen in the manga as recently as Chapter 133: "Maidens in Love" where she was visualized being remembered by Mitsuba.
- For these characters, the series has largely focused on Yu, Mika and Shinoa squad escaping Shibuya, to repel the First, then travel to Akihabara for the prospect of resurrecting humans gathered there. Once Yu and Mika fled they escaped to Mt. Fuji to begin delving into memories of the First. When Yu and Mika formed their plan they returned to Shibuya, in the same city that the escaped members of the Demon Army are trying to flee from now.
- Shinya along with Guren's squad would likely not know that since Guren left he attacked Yu and Mika, where Sayuri was Yu's teacher and Shinya helped them escape before.
- Apparently finding them relatively quickly, Ky Luc catches up to the at least seven escaped members. Again based on the numbers and grouping, it is the aforementioned characters and Sayuri with Shigure too.
- Confronted, Kureto means to prepare for battle against Ky Luc who certainly seems clear he means to kill them all.
- While they have been seen together frequently such as in Chapter 76: "Age of Immortals" where they travelled to Shibuya together for events since then, Ky Luc is not seen together with Urd or Lest Karr. For Lest Karr, he should be somewhere in Shibuya where he remains another high-ranking noble there.
- There is the impression that Ky Luc is under a pressure that is bringing him near to his knees. This scenario is similar in depiction to that of a sinful key being activated. In Chapter 92: "Black Demon Scenario", Ky Luc, along with Lest Karr and Urd came under the effects of a sinful key used by Crowley. In possession of four of them, it is more than possible that Ferid has activated a sinful key against Ky Luc here.
- For what vampires can sense, none of the highest ranking progenitors in the world seem aware that Ferid is in the same vicinity as them who possesses a power to entirely consume vampires and gain their power. In Chapter 138: "Really for Real" Krul had succumbed to this practice.
- In the previous chapter, Ferid was seen investigating Shinoa's presence who he had sensed, along with Guren and Mahiru. Where Ferid has moved here it can be assumed that Guren and Mahiru would be monitoring the fight to come, and be ready to involve themselves as well.
- Last seeing him across Chapter 91: "Orphan Prince" and Chapter 92: "Black Demon Scenario" when he came under attack from a sinful key from him, Ky Luc would come across Ferid again.
- Able to challenge Krul in Chapter 137: "The Queen's Time", with help Ferid could devour her and attain her strength. Capable of overcoming a third progenitor, Ferid has since been empowered with such strength where he is now against Ky Luc as a fifth progenitor who is lower in rank than Krul. Additionally, there is Kureto, Aoi, and the strongest members of the Moon Demon Company, with Guren and Mahiru as well to reinforce Ferid against Ky Luc thus the odds are not in his favor.
- Ferid's strength is further bolstered since he possesses Arcane as a weapon of which that may be seen active here.
