  • The new light novel was a great one and had a lot of informations on itself let's discuss about it carefully

      Loading editor
    • Excellent, so the Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose: Resurrection at Nineteen light novels are a sequel to the Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose: Catastrophe at Sixteen both of which are prequel stories featuring Guren when he was younger, occurring before the Vampire Reign manga and anime.

This thread is perfect for discussing the Guren Ichinose: Resurrection at Nineteen Book 1 which amazingly has managed to be officially translated and released in English as the wiki News area detailed.

So procuring the novel, and then discussing what transpires within is great (there likely will be spoilers in this thread so if people prefer to read the source material first, then that would be best).

    • The fact that Guren was a demon when he destroyed the world really shocked me...

It proved that he was nothing but a complete victim of that plan...

        Loading editor
    • Kureto was like a knight savior to Guren lol😜😂😂

        Loading editor
    • It certainly changes the case for Guren from being grief stricken, to not being himself when initiating it. That Guren even felt bad for something that was going to happen anyway, and something that he apparently had no control over is a welcome development in depicting him as a more sympathetic character (many can rightfully be on the fence as to whether they think Guren is overall more 'bad' than 'good').

Kureto being a knight saviour, and to Guren as well, that's another thing amazing about Seraph of the End, how even the craziest scenarios imaginable are possible XD

        Loading editor
    • Yes that really shocked me completely...

Catastrophe wasn't Guren's fault at all and it is PROVE on new light novel...

        Loading editor
    • Guess you could view it as some choice validation on Guren's character, seeing his views on what happened here, compared to them when he's older with this story tied in with the vampire reign story. It's also relieving that Guren has a heart, it can be so easy for people to see him as a heartless demon of sorts, but it's increasingly looking like that is absolutely not the case.

        Loading editor
    • I never could understand why people call him like this?! ://

Everyone with eyes can see his selfless and kind personality :///

Yuu wasn't a human from the first of his life and Guren had knew it well and wants to use him in order to save the world so he could behave just like a weapon to him (completely like Kureto with Mirai) but did he do that?! No. He was and still is like a great father and even mother to Yuu a mother and a father that Yuu never had ones literally before

If Guren is using Yuu that is cause he wanna save whole the world!!! The story is not only about Yuu and Mika and Shinoa's squad!!! But is about the whole humanity and well no great results won't can be reach without sacrifices this is something obvious to see and the fact that Guren wasn't himself when he destroyed the world can prove that how much he was nothing but only a BIG victim and the fact that how much those traumas were enough for him to break down completely

I don't understand why people say that he shouldn't do that while his sanity was on his lowest place and he had even started to talk to his dead friend's bodies

Do you really call this guy a noraml one??!!!

Which part of this is normal really??!!!

        Loading editor
    • That’s the thing, whether people could see the depths of Guren as a person! It is why the prequel novels are extra important for giving Guren some very welcome backstory, and of course a viewpoint into the central events like the apocalypse and the rise of Guren, and Kureto’s factions which heavily shape the wider story.

Where Yu, even people viewing the story could have thought that Guren had simply forgotten the prophecy, and Yu’s training in general, it’s now more likely it was just Guren allowing Yu to be a child and enjoy a (non experimental) minimal risk environment, then with the insistence he go to school and make friends to help with his happiness issues.

Here in the prequel novels we have the first hand account of Guren shaping his own path, with characters like Kureto for example, to show why Guren’s nice choices matter.

    • With it being an under discussed XD area compared to others, shared news on the prequel novels and this topic on Discussions. Everyone enjoy discussing the prequel novels that are so fortunate to have been released in the first place, and also officially translated to English as well!

    • Well I don't have the book but I can ask somebody to take a photo and send me to I will share it here but about him as a demon then here the spoil dear:

Guren does revive his squad and fools them by saying that he was unconscious with them, earlier he had moved them to an abandoned building just to make his lie work.

At this point in the novel, guren cant hear his demon’s voice and later it’s revealed that he’s becoming a demon himself and has merged with them in a way so Kureto gives him a drug to separate them again.

Guren serves under Kureto and their first mission is to get the power back on.

The novel goes into Narumi and Shuzaku and how when the world ended, they ended up making comrades with other surviving children that later becomes the Narumi squad.

End of spoil and now the conclusion:

Guren had lost his ability to hear his demon's sound after Mahiru's death on his hug, So it means that he was a demon when he destroyed the world and wasn't himself at all.

Hope it was useful but if you want the pictures then you need to wait as I need to ask my friend to send me the pictures

    • The bulk of trumas were so much to Guren so it is completely understandable that he lost himself after Mahiru's death who could be Guren's final reason to live and even on the first chapter of World resurrection after Guren revived his friends Ferid told to him that he doubt if Guren NOW is a demon or not and by whatever that had released after that it is completely obvious that Guren was a full demon the time he destroyed the world just like how Ferid had doubted

        Loading editor
    • rather not full, by merge like Yuu ( 2 minutes more every day) otherwise the effects of the 2 volume started appearing and worse - Guren himself didn't realise as compared to Yuu, he wasn't full demoned at the beggining but small changes at the time! and I think I read some fan translation earlier! how come I didn't remember... Thou there was nothing about Kueto there (not complete one); just ressurrection

    • Dear I had read that translation tok but that wasn't the full translation and that translation was only till chapter 2 and other chapters didn't translat as Tang wei said she doesn't want to translate it anymore

Do you think I am lying for example?!

    • Guren's plans with Kureto would be moments to remember, especially with the state of their interactions zig-zagging from one extreme to the next. Also raises whether there was any possibility that either one intended to keep the other in the picture later on in the series.

    • JAAAAAAAAAAAA, want to read it now :3

Saito didn't put anything to her!!!! The key is on Guren's heart maybe and as Mahiru wanted to possess Guren on second volum then maybe that key had stopped her on the middle way that key doesn't belong to Mahiru if the key was for her then it needed to be INTO her body not out of her body

So with editing, for the page you would like to add to, the light novels for example, choosing EDIT will allow text to be added, then Save page when you are done! Mobile users are able to scroll all the way to the bottom of an article and choose VIEW FULL SITE which will allow them to see the articles as they appear on a desktop and then edit them as above!

If there are any more questions, happy to help, and this thread appears under the article for the first Resurrection novel as well so readers may see the latest threads!

    • Now with the Resurrection novels, also good to keep in mind the artistic styling in this sequel series. With the characters shown younger at 16, here they are depicted at a later date, plus the drawing style used to depict that. It's the details we need to be on the lookout for!

And yes really this was a serious and good question

It seems that Mikado no Tsuki has a temple from hundred years ago but we all know that they didn't believe in God's existing so can it mean that Ichinose clan were lying about believing in God and they had kept a secret?

    • That section may be laying the groundwork for the deity referenced in this series, whether it's real, the centrepiece of a personality cult, or something else. Any light shed on the matter is welcome since Shikama Doji seems to have some awareness of it, and he is at the point where the seraphs that seem tied to it, cannot threaten him as much anymore.

Witnessing the characters in the early stages of the story really is an understated feature of the novels as well!

    • Hmm..?!

sorry English is not my first language so I didn't understand your massage that well!! Can you please explain me that if you were talking about the temple?!

        Loading editor
    • Of course, so it essentially meant that what may seem like small details, like the temple, these may be hints of what is later to come. For example Michaela was mentioned briefly before but it turned out he was real, and seemingly a huge impact on the story with Sika Madu's efforts to recreate him.

Things that are mentioned in passing in the prequel novels may be clues to remember if they are addressed later in the manga. Also good job noting the fine comb details!

        Loading editor
    • Well I'm curios about it really: Did we ever think about the reason of the name " Mikado no TSUKI"?

Why "Tsuki"? this word means "Moon" and so it means: "the empress of the moon" and we all know that the symbol of "Mikado no ONI" is MOON not "Mikado no Tsuki"

But if we pay more attention to manga we can see that Guren, as the current leader of "Mikado no Tsuki", most of the times shows with a moon behind himself (If you will check the chapter that Guren brought Yuu to Aichi and Yuu and Mika were talking, with Guren's coming he had showed with a crescent moon behind himself and generally most of the time he was showed with that moon and it is like this is his symbol) but the question is here: Why the symbol of "Mikado no Oni" is that moon too?! we know that Shikama had always knew about God but he made his organizition members to not to belive on God and also we know that Shikama is NOT God but is a fallen angel so that crescent moon can refer to a God that Shikama had worked for before falling down?! And if yes, then why always Guren do show with that this specially?! Is there really any mean between them?! Or...

What if "Mikado no Tsuki" from the first was secretly with "Mikado no Oni" or better to say with Shikama?!

Does anyone have any idea for it then?! I want to know others ideas about this case too

        Loading editor
    • Ooh, what if there is more to Guren's titular Moon Demon Company than what is being let on? He has had his own plans, right from the start as the prequel novels are making clear. This may mean he was considering the first being behind the Hiragi family early on, and taking steps to build something to deal with this rather large issue.

        Loading editor
    • That's right but there is something more that I had found about moon again

On chapter 78 which Yuu on dark ages killed Asura nearly can you remember that? On that chapter Yuu after stabbing Asura started to fly towards the CRESCENT MOON

And on chapter 76 Saito said something like: it will be nice if we will die on such a nice night with this beautiful moon on it

Seriously what can it mean? Is there a hidden symbol and secret behind the moon really?

        Loading editor
    • Well noticed! Whilst it may have been Sika Madu nearby, the moon activating Yu's seraph form is probable. That and the fledging Moon Demon Company, perhaps the moon itself does turn out to have some significance. If Guren is not saying it, he may well be planning it. Will have to pay closer attention to the background text of the novel, descriptions of environments and that which may be telling a story of their own!

    • New Fact!!

It seems that Ferid had killed both his parents maybe before turning to a vampire

Well according to the novel 5 of Catastrophe at 16 the Moon demon company isn't something new and was there even before Guren and his team actually (or this is what I understood) but well yes about the moon really: Ichinose clan had a temple although they didn't belive in ANY kind of Gods

Guren mostly shows with a crescent moon behind himself

Yuu on more than 2000 years ago flayed towards the moon with Asura on his hands as a kind of punishment for humans

The symbol of Hiragi family or better to say Shikama is a crescent moon

Ichinose clan's empress name is "Mikado no TSUKI" and Tsuki means MOON

Vampires can't bear sun and they live on nights

What all of these can mean? Are we going to face with another God in future, Moon God?!

        Loading editor
    • Doesn't sound too surprising at all regarding Ferid, a heinous villain whose chilling actions are glossed over since his characters likability and eccentrics are what is remembered.

The Moon Demon Company stretching way back makes sense, an organization not focused on paying homage to a deity, but using moon based powers to keep one in check (there's a sun god lurking somewhere) is a scenario that Guren could be a part of.

Then again a moon god is feasible, if humans were keen to show vampires there are true rulers of the night or something. Fits in with Kureto wanting to flip the board and have vampires as livestock.

So the new world begins with the establishment of older orders and likely longer planned schemes!

    • Well thank god we have a full chapter for Ferid in second volume of World resurrection at 19 and maybe most of his past will be spoil there but to be honest I think that Ferid had just hurted TOO much and deeply and so his current behavior has roots on his past actually

It means that how much Shinya meant and still MEANS to Guren really

    • It's a nice mix of select moments like flashbacks showing character backgrounds, and then full chapters devoted to them as well! Especially with Ferid, whilst many a character have their fair share of long formulated plans, Ferid's stretches back hundreds of years!

      cause later they dragged innocent into it, make their life hell to get what they wanted and I don't think anything outside of their 'father' attention or revenge matter for them. Guren's family all years of suffering - Saito wanted to weaken First;

Yuu's family getting murderred and Mika turned into vampire - definitely Ferid things, NOT TO MENTION CROWLEY!! don't misunderstand me, I like both of them, but like there is a reason to hate Guren for some, there is a reason for every character to be hated - me after little sleep and already bad week XD

    • Sure, whilst it's probably not best to dislike a character for something they cannot change, or who they are, it is their actions that need to be looked at. Ferid has absolutely performed some truly awful actions that have hurt others - hence the reason he is disliked... and yet also liked a lot as well for other reasons XD

    • Another thing that Ferid had mentioned in new light novel to Guren was that: He had slept with Mahiru O_o

At the very end it wasn't clear that he was lying or saying the truth but honestly wtf!!😂😂

As this is Mahiru so it can be true that she had did this with Ferid (poor Guren feel bad for him now!!) but well as it wasn't clear at the end thankful of Ferid's dumbful way for explanation it is not clear yet lol😂😂

    • And I am here with the breaking fact which can make a lot of people to be shut up :"))) 👇

(Thanks a lot to gureshingure on Instagram who helped me by all of these new informations😇💖🙏)

The most important part of novel which shut the fucking mouths of a lot of people was that when Kureto testing Guren whether he was posessed by demon or not and whether Mahiru is inside him or not. This is the first time Mahiru showed herself and Guren wasn't sure whether its only hallucination or not because no other demon can showed up outside of the host's mind Guren lied to Kureto and claimed Mahiru is dead Mahiru told him to lie to Kureto and Guren obeyed. Shinya and the others had been worried Guren is possessed by his demon. Shinya is the one who brought Guren to Kureto to be tested And then they had found that Guren himself is a demon too and gave him drugs to can take him back to normal and then, turned out the whole testing scene is watched by everyone, including scientists and Guren's friends (Guren was inside a classroom with only Kureto, but its only an illusion) Guren couldn't hear his demon's voice and then Kureto found it and then they understood that was cause Guren himself was a demon which means that Guren was a demon when he destroyed the world and before destroying the world and wasn't a human one or himself cause right after Mahiru's death he stopped the ability to hear his demons nor Noya or Mahiru.

Actually Guren became a Namanari right after Mahiru's death, the tone of traumas was so much and too heavy for him so he couldn't tolerate it. It means that Guren was and is still the most innocent one during all that happened. We were all wrong about him :")) And right in new chapter we had found that by Noya be out of Guren's body means that Guren is half not himself and half of what he is doing now is not under his own control

So to those jerks whom hate this character cause of Catastrophe: Put your heads out of your ass please here the fact---> Guren wasn't the TRUE responsible for the destruction of the world :"))

    • It's an interesting case of whether a characters present actions in the manga can be absolved by the context of the past. Finding out Guren is not what he seems, does that make it okay for what he is doing now, if we cannot currently see the full picture?

He is not himself right now too.

He is fully possessed so cause this Noya could come out of his body but he didn't bersek thankful of Mahiru but it doesn't change the fact that he is not himself and sorry but only a fool can deny it :"))

And I was generally wanted to clear this FACT that Guren WASN'T the responsible for the Catastrophe so people can shut their fuckin mouths for this :))

    • Yes it's an interesting case of a physical demon acting on his own whim, quite remarkable really, hope we can glean more insights on demons from the novels!

    • Ah! I read another part of new novel and Kureto...he was really like an angel!! I can't believe myself to say this but he was too human with Guren!!!

He really saved Guren to control his demon and be seperate of it as Gureb right after Mahiru's death had lost ALL his sanity and control and it was completely proved (he was more than 99% became a namanari right after her death)

Kureto had first experimented the new drug on himself and then to Guren and when he injected that drug to Guren and Guren had lost his control for a while Kureto's demon, Roarmeiki, mentioned that Kureto is not that heartless and really do care for Guren...

Well, I really can say that, this new novel had changed a lot of my mind about Kureto...

He is not really a bad guy but is the one who has a lot of responsibles and is a caring one...

Took you a while, Kureto is stern, serious, but deep down he is not a bad guy. He is binded by the deep marks of his family. The catastrophe reflects a lot of Kureto's kind side in small parts but anyways, time to wait for the second volume. I'm more excited for the 2nd volume than ever, knowing deep secrets of Rigr and the first...

Yes Kureto is really not a monster or a bad guy he has a kind heart actually

I was mostly mad at him cause of Guren's father's death (I know he didn't want that but well he abused Guren's trust on novel 4 and if he wasn't going to arrest his father then maybe Sakae wasn't going to die as we had found that Kureto doing that was completely a mistake and was just right what Mahiru wanted) but now by reading this new novel I really had changed my mind about him...

      He is a good friend

VOLUME 2 WILL BE THE BEST CAN'T WAIT FOR IT AT ALL!!!

Indeed it will be, hehe, I'm quite thrilled and mostly, the end is coming closer for the story, everything is slowly falling into pieces

    • Yes the end is near but I think that the end of FIRST part is near and we will have the continues of story in human's world which is resurrected

(Hey share your theories here in Fandom too!!! I really enjoyed it that was nice!!)

Hm...it will depend a lot how the story will go, for example, some stories give the feeling there will be a part 2 but sometimes the story itself is too weak for a second part or the final of the first story leaves a bigger impression that it'll be likely hard to overcome such story and I will lol, don't worry

    • Yes who knows really!! We only need to wait and see!!

    • The light novels are ongoing with no reason to stop, so hopefully that's a good clue there's still heaps of content to detail (which there is!) Then of course the whole one question is answered, more questions are created XD

    • Yeah...

I feel that I did whatever I wanted to do with ONS Fandom really as finally thankful of new light novel and my dear friends in everywhere I could finally prove that Catastrophe wasn't Guren's fault

I have the best feelings now :")))

The only thing I'm curious about is how they jumped from blaming Mahiru to Guren, when did the trend start?

        Loading editor
    • Yes really :///

The one whom used everyone and of course Guren was Mahiru but people call that poor soul as the bad one :"))) they really couldn't see the complete picture?! Guren was absoulotly nothing but a complete victim

But I belive that trend had started since Mika said: Oh he is the responsible for everything!!! And then his fans says: YES!!! WHATEVER MIKA SAYS IS TRUE!! HE IS A GODLIKE AND SO GUREN IS A PIECE OF SHIT!!!! YUU SHOULDN'T LIKE HIM AND HAVE TO RUN WITH MIKA!!!!

I really want to see their faces now😂😂😂

Well, just one thing. I know you get tired of fans bashing around Guren but, don't bash at them as well. It's not nice even if they're not nice, there's no meaning for doing it.

People here mainly want a ship to be concrete which will not happen except for fanfics or fanarts so far. Behaving the same way won't really help out to create a more respectful fandom community

        Loading editor
    • Yeah true and maybe my tirdness was an enough reason to try my best for these facts too but at least since now on I really do hope for respect and stop insulting really

(You are so right about ships and other stuffs big agree👌)

    • According to new novel when Guren is going to back from the complete possession he can't remember ANYTHING of what he did or said during the possession

        Loading editor
    • A new fact about new novel is that Mahiru after possessing Guren's body and mind fully can hear other demons too and so cause this she could hear Kureto and his demon, Roarmeiki's converstation

        Loading editor
    • And the last thing I could figure out was that Kureto has a privet labratory for himself that on that place he helped Guren to be remove of his demon

(Kureto separating Guren and his demon a few hours after Catastrophe)

        Loading editor
    • Shinya was the one whom brought Guren to Kureto as he was worry for him that if Mahiru had turned to a demon and had possessed him

        Loading editor
    • I said this before but as this thread is for World Resurrection then I think it's better to mention this here too: Shinya didn't revive by Seraph but Ferid squized his unbeating heart and forced it to beat again so maybe the course of Seraph is not working for him fully

    • Remarkable details, especially with Mahiru able to hear other demons. Imagining adopting the mindset where in the beginnings of this magic of sorts, to go from a regular human to be able to first of all join someone like that, and then find a whole new reality opened up to them. Then it's also a very handy skill to be able to possess someone and listen in, which story wise is reason to head back and see when this was occurring so we could read between the lines which conversations were being noted, that Mahiru could be aware of Raimeiki and other demons, it's brilliant in terms of a thriller spy kind of storytelling!

        Loading editor
    • Yeah same!! I think that was a very important detail so that was worthy to be mention here

        Loading editor
    • How the other members of the squad react to events are key details. It would be some time later where they come across Mahiru again, then how the novels give them extra shining moments so to speak is also lovely!
