Watching the anime will have brought many Seraph of the End characters into prominence, and yet the story continues in the on-going manga (both of them!) with even more characters in various levels of visibility. Then there were characters introduced briefly in the anime, who come into play later on in the chapters.
So! This blog can shine the light on manga characters that people absolutely must hear about, and of course anytime now and in the future people may share those they feel need to be on a podium.
Shikama Doji is the titular manga character here; yes Shinoa’s cursed gear scythe/demon. Even though it’s on the wiki, and there are spoilers everywhere, still feel an obligation to post a spoiler warning right here! Shinoa’s weapon becomes one of the greatest threats, to everyone, in the whole series. It’s one step up the ladder: began as an inanimate scythe, became a seraph like deity, what’s your rags to riches story XD
Even with the story bringing Shikama Doji into the limelight in the manga, he remains firmly shrouded in mystery. He appears to have powers from all three of the mythical fabled beings: vampires, demons and seraphs, and yet how that could possibly have come about, or what he is even after is something only Shikama Doji knows. Or not, beginning as Sika Madu, there is no telling what memories he has, or if his original goals have been altered with his developments. He seems quite happy just inviting himself into secret plots, possessing the bodies of people and saying hi by attacking everyone with multiple gigantic scythes.
With what is known of his past, his interactions with other characters to everything Shikama Doji is, he is but one character the manga really expands upon. Some people just like anime, but may overlook that the story continues in another, the original, format in the manga and the overall story no matter the way it is depicted is most important.
