After trumpets of the apocalypse proclaim the fall of humanity, vampires arise from the shadows to rule the earth. Yūichirō wants just one thing—to get revenge by killing each and every vampire.

The Hyakuya Sect descends on the Demon Army as the First Progenitor, Sika Madu, takes over Shinoa's mind and body. Leading the invasion is none other than Second Progenitor Rígr Stafford—he’s after Yūichirō, who is once again on the run with Mika. Meanwhile, Guren and Mahiru enact their long-awaited plan. It’s an all-out war between vampires, humans and demons!

Cover Details[]

Volume 20's cover shows the highest ranking vampires in the world. At the forefront of the image are the two second progenitor vampires. Positioned in the front from his arm, Saito stands on the right where he is clad in both chains and an aspect of an entity appearing to be like a beast of the apocalypse. A thick and long black, reptilian like body has appeared from some point off the image to wind behind Saito with a wolf head with red eyes resting on his shoulder. The snake like body has thicker scales the closer to the wolf head it gets. Whether due to the light or because it is its natural color, there are pronounced red sections to it. Saito is caressing the wolf's head, while his hands and arms are draped in chains that would be coming out of his back. This had its initial forming in chapter 81, where a spell tag based experiment that sapped the Hyakuya Sect army appeared to allow for its existence.

Beside Saito stands Urd who is adjusting his gloves. Seen without his coat, Urd would not be viewed like this in the story, and it would be in later chapters namely Chapter 91 of Volume 22 that he would be physically near to Saito. They had last seen one another in chapter 50 of Volume 13. Urd's eyes are red as with all vampires, where Saito's are not due to self-experimentation, a same situation concerning their ears. Where Saito is displaying what are powerful weapons, Urd is notably lacking in what he is possessing, with not even his sword shown.

Both second progenitors may be standing on the same red steps that lead up to the background scene. Wispy black, shadowy like hair is unfurling down from the steps, drawing near to their legs. The back of who is presumed to be Shikama Doji is seen. His six Seraph like wings are shown, of which the lowest two are long enough to reach near the floor. All six wings appear darkened due to some force. It is not clear what their natural coloration would be, certain parts could be a different shade due to a shadow, or because of the light that is shining around the First's head. Shikama Doji's silvery white hair with purple tinges is unbraided. He stands facing an ornate golden gate fixed in a red wall. Flecks of golden light shine and is interspersed around the image.

While Saito with his chains and apocalyptic like beasts are featured in the chapters, neither Urd nor Shikama Doji are seen as they are here. The golden door, which appears wider the lower down it is, has not been featured at all. Depicted together for this image, individually the three characters are in separate scenarios of Saito being shown as he has been, to Urd as he hasn't, to Shikama Doji who is before something not seen yet.
