Yūichirō's mother (優一郎の母 Yūichirō no haha?)[2] was the mother of Yūichirō Hyakuya, later revealed as his stepmother, in Seraph of the End. She alone appeared in the Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose: Catastrophe at Sixteen manga. Yu's parents are visualized together in a nightmare he experiences.
Appearance[]
Yūichirō's stepmother was a pretty Japanese woman with long, dark green hair. She appeared to be in her mid-twenties. When she screamed about killing Yu, her face was twisted and her hair disheveled. She was seen wearing a sweater.
Personality[]
Believing that her step-son was a demon that should die, she was greatly alarmed that he was not dead and panicked in an attempt to carry the murder out. She doused herself in gasoline and attempted to light herself on fire when in front of the news crew and firefighters, where she did not appear to be mentally stable.

At some point, she met Yu's father and took Yu in as her son.
Story[]
Events of 2012[]
Stood behind Yu's father who was holding a knife, she agreed that killing Yu is the right thing to do and for the best.[3] The Amanes' apartment went up in flames, and firefighters struggle to get it under control while newscasts swarm the area. The six o'clock news broadcasts the scene. As the apartment burns, she was outside, calling Yūichirō while being held by a fire fighter. Telling him to let go of her, she states that Yu was still in there and for somebody give her a hand. The meaning behind her words was clear when she bluntly says to not put out the fire.

A firefighter struggled against her and asked for help, stating she had "some kind of crazy strength." She punched the firefighter in the jaw. They continued struggling as she screamed. Separated, she poured a plastic bottle of gasoline onto her head with her left hand and began flicking a lighter with her right hand. The spark did not catch and she cried Yu is a demon, a repeating that she has to kill him. As she fiddles with the lighter, she was struck in the face by a fire fighter. Knocked over, she reached out while being restrained by three firefighters.[4]
Where Yu was left in the building, his mother screamed about killing the demon before she sets herself on fire, and commits suicide by burning herself to death.[5]
When driving Yu to the orphanage, Saitō reveals that Mrs. Amane is his step-mother, but he does not tell Yūichirō.
