Zane Lindau (ゼイン・リンダウ, Zein Rindau^?) is a seventeenth progenitor among the vampires. He is targeted by the Moon Demon Company who have launched a large scale assassination campaign against vampire nobles in Nagoya. This is in line with the Lieutenant General Kureto Hīragi's pursuit of driving the vampires from Japan.

Events of 2020

Nagoya Arc

Zane Lindau is first mentioned as part of a ruse by Sergeant Aiko Aihara with Mikaela Hyakuya, when she discloses the false intelligence to René Simm, Lacus Welt, and their group of vampires. The misdirection is that the Japanese Imperial Demon Army sent a platoon of fifty soldiers to attack the Automobile Museum and assassinate the Seventeenth Progenitor Zane Lindau. (In the anime they are directed to the botanical garden in Higashiyama Park).

This prevents the vampires from approaching Nagoya City Hall where Guren Ichinose and his squad, along with Shinoa Hīragi's and Makoto Narumi's squad, are currently preparing for a rescue mission to free hostages from Crowley Eusford, with Chess Belle and Horn Skuld. Simultaneously, the reinforcements heading to assist Zane are prevented from interfering with Mikaela Hyakuya's objective of saving Yūichirō Hyakuya.

As a vampire, Zane would be far stronger and faster than a human. In addition, as a seventeenth progenitor, Zane is more potent than vampires of a lower class.
